A new event called Khorovod has launched in Escape From Tarkov alongside the new wipe, and once again it requires you to complete some tasks across multiple maps that will eventually give you some solid rewards.
The new Khorovod event launched as part of the most recent Escape From Tarkov wipe, where the patch notes added a lot of cool new features. But at the top of the patch notes was some info on the brand-new event, that will likely keep you occupied for the next few days now the early wipe fun is starting to die off a little.
After keeping things locked away for the first few days of the wipe, the Khorovod event is now (almost) fully functional. The event comes with a new mode, quest line and a status effect that is capable of reducing what you can see to almost nothing, and there is likely some more to come as the event is only just getting started.
But, like a lot of the big events in Tarkov, there’s a lot of new info you need to learn, and not a lot of great resources to learn it from. So here’s all the info you will need to complete the Khorovod event in Escape From Tarkov.
Escape From Tarkov Khorovod Event Quests
The Khorovod event in Escape From Tarkov has added nine new quests that we currently know about. Some unlock as soon as you boot up Tarkov for the first time this wipe, while others take a bit of work to unlock. Some are pretty simple and just require you to find items related to the event in the normal Tarkov mode, whereas others require you to jump into the Khorovod game mode.
Christmas Dinner
Christmas Dinner is a quest in Escape From Tarkov given to you by Prapor. It tasks you with finding certain food items around Tarkov and handing them over to Prapor. However, many of the items required have boosted spawn rates as they appear around Christmas trees and presents that can be found all around the themed maps, which makes this task a lot easier than it seems on paper.
You will need to find and hand over five Salty Dog beef sausages, five cans of green peas, five jars of DevilDog mayo, one bottle of Tarkovskaya vodka, one bottle of Dan Jackiel whiskey and three jars of pickles.
Cheer Up
Cheer Up is a simple quest in Escape From Tarkov given to you by Prapor. All you need to do is build the Christmas tree in your hideout to complete the quest, which can be done by finding one of each colour bauble around Tarkov. These spawn almost everywhere, although especially around the Christmas tree, so this is probably the easiest quest to complete.
Chilly
Chilly is a quest in Tarkov given to you by Jaeger, but it is one that is seemingly impossible to complete currently. It requires you to kill 10 targets while suffering from the Frostbite effect, however it does not seem possible to get the Frostbite effect in a PvP raid currently, making it impossible to complete this quest without further additions being added to the game.
Hide in Plain Sight
Hide in Plain Sight is a quest in Tarkov given to you by Ragman, who tasks you with finding the Christmas trees and markets hidden around Tarkov. You can find them on Customs near the Smuggler’s Boat extract, on Lighthouse at the supermarket near water treatment, on Reserve at the helicopter in between barracks, on Interchange at the front of the main entrance to the mall, on Shoreline near the west wing of health resort and on Woods in the sawmill.
Holiday Beyond the Means
Holiday Beyond the Means is a quest given to you in Tarkov by Skier that tasks you with killing 10 PMC operatives while dressed as Ded Moroz or Santa. To do this you need to wear a Santa or Ded Moroz hat, a fake white beard and kill PMCs while dressed in that way. Easy.
This Is My Party / The Price of Celebration
These two quests are optional, where you can complete one or the other. Both ask you to kill 10 PMC operatives, but the way you do it depends on which quest you will complete. To complete This Is My Party, you will need to kill 10 PMCs who are not wearing the Kohorvod armband in the Khorovod mode while you are wearing the Khorovod armband that is given to you. To complete The Price of Celebration, you need to kill 10 PMCs in normal raids while you are not wearing the Khorovod armband.
Enough Drinks for That One
Enough Drinks for That One is a quest in Tarkov given to you by Ragman that requires you to kill Killa and 10 scavs with event facemasks on Interchange between the hours of 22:00-10:00. Given boss spawns at currently at 5%, that’s going to take some time to do.
Khorovod (Quest)
The Khorovod quest in Escape From Tarkov is given to you by Parpor and requires you to reach Interchange in the Khorovod game mode. You can read how to do that below.
Escape From Tarkov Khorovod Game Mode
The Khorovod game mode in Escape From Tarkov is very similar to the Marathon mode that was added at the start of last wipe. You can access it by selecting the mode in the top right of the map selection screen.
When in the Khorovod mode, you will start on Shoreline and will need to advance to Lighthouse, Reserve, Woods, Customs and Interchange to complete the quest associated with the mode. You can only advance to the next map once you have powered up and defended the Christmas tree on each map, and you have to complete all of the maps in one life.
When you arrive on a map you will need to find the Christmas tree on the map, and power it up using Special 40-degree fuel, this will start a five-minute countdown where you must defend the tree from scavs. After the timer ends, you can transit to the next map to do the same thing there.
Frostbite Effect In Escape From Tarkov
The Frostbite effect in Escape From Tarkov was seemingly added in the patch notes for the 0.16.0.0 update, and is required to complete the Chilly quest. However, at the time of writing there does not appear to be a way to get the Frostbite effect in a normal Tarkov raid, and therefore there is no way to complete the quest.
Update: 30 December - 4 PM GMT:
The Frostbite effect has now been added and can be received by staying out in the snow for an extended period of time. To remove it you’ll need to stand near a source of heat, such as a flaming barrel, or remain inside for a period of time. This means you can now complete the Chilly quest.
